The new, four-star Arctic Hilltop Boutique Hotel Iso-Syöte is located at the peak of the southernmost fell in Finland, surrounded by the Syöte National Park and fell landscape. The wild northern nature blends with unique design in this environment.
The hotel’s accommodation options range from design rooms and luxurious suites to authentic cabins. Many apartments in the hotel are equipped with fireplaces, with Härmä Air’s Siro chimneys ensuring the safe usage of fire.
The hotel welcomes a constantly changing clientele from all over the world. Even an inexperienced guest must be able to use the fireplaces safely and comfortably – without the smell of smoke in the air or, worst of all, the smoke detector going off. When the draft is good, the fire burns beautifully, and the fireplace is easy to use. Safety First
The aim was to leave accidents in the past and implement solutions based on sustainable construction principles. Fire safety is at the heart of Härmä Air’s mission, so there could not have been a more suitable partner for the project.
Flexible Solutions
Our products enabled solutions that others could not offer. This included customized length dimensions, as the chimneys needed to run vertically side by side from different apartments. The measurements had to be exact to the millimeter in all directions.

From the very beginning of the project, we engaged in detailed discussions with the designer and the fireplace manufacturer about the implementation and progress of the project. This close collaboration allowed us to provide the best possible solutions and deliver the project on schedule.
Performance Only Siro Can Achieve
The chimneys were installed in a casing, so the products needed to be certified for this specialized construction. Additionally, the casings were pre-built, and the products had to fit through pre-prepared openings. The project would not have been possible without our superior insulation technology, minimal clearance requirements, and manufacturing flexibility.
Finnish Expertise and Design
A Finnish hotel experience would not be complete without a Finnish fireplace and chimney. The fireplaces came from Juuka in Eastern Finland, and the chimneys from Härmä in Western Finland – a beautiful showcase of Finnish design.

Härmä Air provided all the smoke extraction solutions, including Exodraft smoke fans, ensuring that the long and winding chimneys have a good draft under all conditions and are easy for any user to manage.
Crucial Insight into Fireplace Design
The hotel also featured completely unique fireplaces. Our expertise proved invaluable in solving certain design problems. We managed to fit the flue and dampers into a minimal space, achieving the best possible technical execution. At the same time, we were able to place the flue and dampers in an optimal location.
In other words, we solved the practical problems without compromising the fireplace’s design.
Delivery in Record Time
In large projects, urgency is the norm. Due to unforeseen twists, the chimneys had to be delivered from Härmä to Iso-Syöte in record time. Thanks to our flexible and proactive way of operating, we were able to ensure that the project was not delayed, and the hotel opened as scheduled.
Less Chaos on the Construction Site with Proper Packaging
The products were packed in individually identified packages, making it easy to sort them into the correct apartments on site. In addition to standard installation instructions, we also provided support for installing the customized, special-sized parts by photographing the installation sequence.
Consultation for Smooth Installations
When the products arrived on site, we offered consultation regarding the installation of the specialized and customized products. This ensured that the installation would get an efficient start and Hotel Iso-Syöte could open on time.
Despite the project’s challenges, it was a success in every way. So much so that the site’s architect later ordered a Härmä Air Siro steel chimney for his personal use!
The project included many custom-sized units that we were able to tailor and deliver very quickly. In the illustrations, you can see examples of several fireplace implementations where the chimneys run parallel through the structures from the fireplaces of different units and connect to a casing that joins the flues.
